Welcome to our New Headteacher

It is with great pride and excitement that I take over as Headteacher of Beverley Grammar School at the start of the new academic year.  Beverley Grammar School converted to an academy on August 1st and, although there will be very few noticeable differences for students in terms of the learning and teaching or the ethos of the school, I hope they will notice the beginnings of an improvement in the facilities, fabric and environment.

I am relishing building upon the firm foundations left by Mr Goodwin who provided 36 years of sterling service to the school.  I am committed to the open, caring and friendly nature of the school built upon trust, respect and team work.  I know that to achieve our aims we have to work as part of a three-way partnership between the student, the school and home. A strong and effective partnership with parents underpins the work we do in school and I look forward to your support in achieving this.  We want all the students to enjoy school and to maximise their achievement, success and happiness to become thoughtful, articulate, confident and responsible members of society able to contribute positively to the local community and beyond.

I will ensure that the highest possible standards are maintained within the school and hope to enhance still further the outstanding reputation that Beverley Grammar School has in the local area by extending our links within the community.  I look forward to hearing from, or meeting with, anyone who would like develop such links.

Kind regards

Grahame Hodson
