GCSE Results 2013

A mixed year for the students of Beverley Grammar School. 77.3% of our boys gained 5A* to C grades and 56.4% achieved 5A* to C including English and Mathematics. 98%, achieved at least 5A* to G grades. The Mathematics results were very good with 76.4% gaining A* to C, as were the English Literature results with 74.4% of the total cohort achieving A* to C. We seem to have had a problem with our English Language results which has brought our headline figure down and we will be investigating what has happened with these as a matter of urgency.

I would, however, like to congratulate our students. Their success is due to hard work and effort and this, along an excellent attitude, has been reflected in many of their results.

The following students all achieved at least 10 A*/A grades. Oliver Hulme, Alexander Borthwick, Callum Blake, Connor Lynn, Charlie Bough, Tristan Browning, Sam Burton, Cameron Drummond, David Mason and Benjamin Watson, with a special mention for Oliver Hulme who not only gained 14 grades at A*, but also a grade A at AS ICT along with Callum Blake.

I would like to thank the teaching and support staff for all their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm in preparing our students for these important examinations. Their professionalism and willingness to support both within and outside the classroom has helped our students to achieve well in many areas. In addition, I would also like to thank our parents for their continued support for the school and guidance given to their sons.
