History students at BGS study a unit for their history AS course on Hitler, antisemitism and the German people and as a piece of background work look at what Germany is and how it developed in modern times. Some students showed a great deal of progress in terms of applying their ICT skills to a piece of work demonstrating this.
The ability to use such skills as well as an understanding of historical information and imagination to present quite complex ideas effectively and engagingly to an audience is vital in the 21st century workplace.
As such those boys in Year 11 who find history interesting should seriously consider it as an A Level option as this approach to learning and the skills and aptitudes it develops continues in Years 12 and 13.
