PSV Eindhoven football trip

At the beginning of May half term, 41 students from Years 7, 8 and 9 went on a football tour of Eindhoven, Holland.

Students had ‘behind the scenes’ access to first team and academy facilities for two days where they received 4 training sessions from PSV academy coaches on a pitch worth £1.5 million.

As well as this, an ‘access all areas’ tour of the Philips Stadium allowed students to uncover the vast history of the club and some of the world class players to graduate from PSV, such as Ronaldo, Robben, Van Persie and most recently Memphis Depay.

The tour also included games against 2 local Dutch teams, S.V Rood – Wit ’62 and Door Eendracht Sterk Moesdijk.

Both games pitched the Dutch style of ‘total football’ against the English counter attacking style. This resulted in some well-matched and interesting games.

Two nights on the ferry, a night bowling and a night watching Hull City getting relegated (much to relief of Newcastle fan Mr Scott) provided a busy and hectic yet enjoyable tour for both students and staff alike.
