The annual Carol Service was held on Monday 7th December in the beautiful venue of the Minster, with a record congregation of almost 500.
The evening began with carols played by the Brass Group whilst the congregation were seated. Official proceedings started with a small year 7 group singing the first verse of ‘Once in Royal’ unaccompanied, lit only by the light of their candles.
The event was a mixture of secular and sacred readings as well as performances from a range of different musical ensembles, and the traditional congregational carols.
There were many highlights within the Service, including the Wind Band’s emotive performance of Run (Snow Patrol) and Year 7s powerful performance of Blame It On Me (George Ezra).
