Beverley Grammar School is pleased to announce that the Deputy Head teacher and all Assistant Head teachers have gained Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) status, which recognises the work and ability of the leadership team at Beverley Grammar School. Only those of the highest calibre within school leadership have been appointed across the country.

As an SLE, their role is to develop other leaders to have the same set of skills to improve practice, not only within their own school, but across other schools.

Beverley Grammar School has been recognised as a school with excellent outcomes for boys; other schools across the region are now contacting Beverley Grammar School for support and assistance in driving forward their own schools performance. This designation will allow other schools to work on a formal basis with the leadership team to improve outcomes for all young people. Support has already been provided within the East Riding and also Doncaster, under the Doncaster teaching school alliance.

Deputy head teacher Edward Vickerman commented “This work strengthens the school and will further improve outcomes for all pupils. This is an important milestone for the school, and follows the OFSTED report which highlighted the strength of leadership at Beverley Grammar School.”
