Students from BGS recently took part in some exciting footballing action in Driffield.
Football teams got under way with competitive league action again straight after the February half term, with matches against Wolfreton (Away), Cottingham (Home) and Goole (Home). BGS teams put in some good performances on these occasions and represented the school superbly.

In November, England Cricket superstar Paul Collingwood came to Beverley Grammar School to work with the School’s aspiring Year 10 cricketers. The afternoon gave the Year 10 team some important coaching before next years summer cricket. The session was organised by Yorkshire Bank for their lucky competition winner, BGS year 10 student Dominic Judd.
Being a school with an abundance of talented football players and very successful school football teams – it became clear that we needed to update our appearance. Almost every other school football team we play against use a tailored football kit – which is why we are modernizing our shirts.
Our new PE Block is now open. We have a fabulous new classroom for teaching PE. It overlooks the Westwood and has the best view in the whole school. If it wasn’t for the fact that I’m leaving this Summer I’d be tempted to move into it myself!
