My first visit to Beverley Grammar School. It was great. Students were so enthusiastic, following recipes and verbal instructions. Many having never cooked a meal before, worked so hard, using unfamiliar foods, spices and herbs. Thank you boys. You worked so well. Your attitudes, behaviour and skills are a credit to you, your school and your families. This was the first school I have ever been to where all students were so eager to tidy up, clear away and wash up. A great thank you also to Kate for her non stop washing up. I had a wonderful wonderful day, especially seeing your achievements and pride in all the great Caribbean meals and dishes you prepared and made.

As an exam invigilator, I was in charge of 37 candidates sitting their GCSE’s in Physical Education. The duration of the exam was probably half an hour over what was needed and most of the students finished their papers with at least 20 minutes left. The discipline and the patience of the boys was of the highest order and in an age when youngsters often get “bad press”, their attitude should be highly commended.

We came in to work on sustainability issues and we worked with year 7, first in an assembly and then with 2 class groups. We were very impressed with the ethos and the caring atmosphere between all the boys. We had 2 very good workshops and the students asked a lot of thoughtful questions. Everybody we met in the school was very polite and considerate. We would like to congratulate the school on its friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Label of Love have been coming to teach in your school for a few years now. We love coming here! The staff are amazing and very supportive! Your pupils are a tribute to you! They are so well behaved and are always polite! The boys always join in and are very responsive to our lessons. The one thing that makes the boys of this school stand out from the rest is their maturity! Again, your pupils are a tribute to the school.

I enjoyed the visit to Beverley Grammar. Mr Coull, Mrs Wilson, Ms Martell was very friendly and we discussed on how to establish partnership with a compatible Sri Lankan school. Good luck with the partnership.

Very enjoyable – for an interview! Even though I didn’t get the job, it was a very positive experience, and thanks to everyone concerned for making us feel at ease.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance – slight confusion about whether we were doing a workshop or a performance. They would have enjoyed getting involved if we had done a workshop. Very friendly and helpful staff.
