A well qualified Head of Modern Foreign Languages is required for a full time, permanent position at this over-subscribed, 11 to 18 boys’ comprehensive school with a successful ‘Joint Sixth’ form.
After attending an October half term seminar at the Memorial De Le Shoah in Paris (France’s leading research centre, museum and memorial regarding the Holocaust), the History Department devised a series of tasks for Year 9 pupils on the school’s VLE.
Mr Morgan and Mr Cutler’s Year 9 students were tasked with using online resources to create original pieces of work on the subject of the Holocaust, and one of its survivors. The students produced excellent pieces of work, and some of the videos and presentations they created can be viewed and downloaded here.
On Thursday 19th April, students from Beverley Grammar School will hear testimony from Holocaust survivor, Zigi Shipper, as part of a visit organised by Mr Morgan, Head of History at BGS, and the Holocaust Educational Trust (HET).
Toby Wise, Ben Thomas & Sam Maughan of 7M have taken a history homework task which called on them to take effective notes, research points and organize them carefully to complete a structured essay on the Black Death and taken it a few steps further.

The History department at Beverley Grammar School is looking to build up a bank of resources for our local history projects and in doing so build stronger links with the local community and collect a priceless resource and record for future generations.
Sixth Form has gone incredibly fast! There is just one set of summer exams to go until the rest of Year 13 and I (results permitting) complete our A- levels, and look to enter a new phase of our lives.
On Thursday, 3rd November 2011 author Gill Lewis was welcomed to the school. Year 7 students have been studying Gill’s book ‘Sky Hawk’ which tells the story of young osprey in Scotland and their migration to Africa.
