Beverley Grammar School is a popular 11–18 boys’ comprehensive with a Joint Sixth form with the
neighbouring girls’ school. We focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, increased
student attainment and achievement, and social and emotional development for all our students.

We are seeking to recruit a Careers Adviser to provide Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to our
students. We would welcome applications from Level 6 qualified Careers Advisers with experience of working
in secondary schools but would consider a Level 4 qualified Adviser with previous experience of working in
schools, who is willing to undertake an appropriate Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance as a condition of
employment.

Main duties:

• Support Assistant Head in developing and delivering comprehensive careers programme.
• Support students in making post-school choices.
• Provide up-to-date and comprehensive information on post-16 and post-18 pathways, qualifications, and the local and national labour market.
• Support school events, including careers fairs, university visits, employer engagement days, and mock interview sessions.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interviews and destination data.

We are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant who is a committed team worker, able to establish
positive working relationships with students and adults. The person appointed will be able to show
sensitivity towards students’ problems and use initiative when required.

There is the potential for the right candidate to be employed as a Level 3 LSA, with additional
responsibilities for being a Head of Year link and supporting the development, implementation and
delivery of literacy programmes including Read Write Inc Fresh Start. If you have a literacy focus and are
looking for an exciting next step in supporting young people, this may be the opportunity for you.

You will have:

• A good standard of general education, to include Maths and English A* -C
• The ability to relate well to young people
•  A commitment to supporting the school policies and be prepared to take part in relevant training.

Experience within a secondary school is desirable.
