Kenya 2027

Get involved in the Trip of a Lifetime.

This is a school trip where you don't just see the world – you change it. In partnership with African Adventures, you can participate in a life-changing volunteer experience in Kenya, helping to transform education for children in developing communities while gaining skills, confidence, and unforgettable memories.

For over 16 years, African Adventures has collaborated with 34 schools across Ghana, Kenya, and Zanzibar, providing vital support through teaching and building projects. With nearly 10,000 volunteers having already travelled and over 25,000 lives impacted, their mission is simple: to make a lasting difference in Africa, one school at a time.

A Journey of Growth and Global Citizenship

The volunteer trip fosters confidence, empathy, and global awareness, inspiring personal achievement. It connects classroom subjects like geography and citizenship with real-world challenges such as climate change, global inequality, and access to education.

Make a Difference – and Make Memories That Last a Lifetime

Join thousands of students who have found volunteering in Africa to be a transformative experience. By participating in our trip to Kenya, you won't just help build classrooms; you'll build brighter futures for yourself and others.

Step beyond the classroom and volunteer in Kenya with African Adventures, where education, compassion, and adventure unite.

Kenya is a country of remarkable contrasts, with stunning scenery, famous wildlife, and a thriving tourism industry, but also widespread poverty that limits many children's access to education. Despite notable economic growth, Kenya's economy was forecast to grow by 6% in 2024, yet around 20% of the population still lives on less than £2 a day. Volunteering here offers a meaningful opportunity to understand global inequality first-hand and contribute to solutions.

We will stay in Nakuru, Kenya's newest and fourth-largest city, where local people have set up schools to give children a chance at a better future. However, classrooms are often overcrowded and lack resources, and many families cannot afford school fees. Our volunteers aim to change this reality.

You can help provide free education and daily meals for over 5,000 children in Nakuru's most disadvantaged communities, many of whom live in slum areas near the town's dumpsite.

You will be paired with a partner school that matches your interests and skills, helping you gain practical experience and confidence.

Teaching & Sports Coaching

Classrooms at the partner schools can be large and busy. Volunteers play a crucial role in supporting local teachers, assisting small groups, and delivering fun and engaging lessons. You can also get involved in sports coaching, inspiring children through teamwork and physical activity.

Building & Renovation

If you prefer practical work, the Building & Renovation projects offer the chance to make a noticeable difference. From constructing new classrooms and kitchens to repairing walls, toilets, and assembly halls, this work is always led by a local builder and supported by enthusiastic volunteers working as a team.

These projects not only improve facilities – they create long-term opportunities for hundreds of children.

African Adventures takes care of all the details, ensuring the trip runs smoothly and safely from start to finish, so you feel supported and secure throughout your experience.
