On Wednesday 21st October, all students in Year 8 took part in a Maths Puzzle Day run by the Happy Puzzle Company. The activities were based around teamwork and problem solving.
The puzzles, from balancing penguins on an iceberg, to designing road maps, and completing circular jigsaws, all provided challenges, which Year 8 mastered brilliantly. The best teams were awarded individual prizes.
After school, a ‘parent and child’ session gave adults the opportunity to try similar puzzles with their son. It was a very competitive session, with a lot of parents very enthusiastic and determined to complete the tasks!
Well done to all Year 8 for working so hard and showing excellent team spirit on the day.
