Spring Term Football

Football teams got under way with competitive league action again straight after the February half term, with matches against Wolfreton (Away), Cottingham (Home) and Goole (Home). BGS teams put in some good performances on these occasions and represented the school superbly.

The Year 8 football team remain unbeaten in all competitions since the start of year 7, which will be put to the test in the upcoming league Semi-finals (against Goole) and the Semi Final of the Cup (vs Longcroft). Year 10 are also flying high and join year 8 in their own league semi-final match after winning their group. They play Woldgate School in the Semi-final match in a few weeks’ time.

Many lads, including some from the school football teams are flying out to Valencia over Easter with the school’s Football Tour – which will be a fantastic opportunity to be coached by professionals and improve their skills even further. We look forward to seeing our teams continue to put in strong performances and reward the parents/staff who brave the cold to support all our teams.
