Y11 student in Rugby League success

Magers_League_Rugby_BallWe are pleased to congratulate Harrison Morrow in being selected for England Positional Specific Training. A year ago, Harrison received a scholarship from Hull KR, who later merged with Hull FC to become the City of Hull Academy. Harrison’s coach put him forward to receive the training which is designed to improve ability in his chosen position; he hopes this will give him the best chance to get an Under 19’s contract.

Harrison has been playing rugby for 11 years and commits a huge amount of time to his sport, currently training 4 nights a week as well as playing at the weekend. Harrison also makes time to play for the school, which has benefitted from his passion for the sport.

Mr Davison has devoted a lot of his time to the Year 11 team and commented on the pleasure it gave him to work with them, “Year 11 have had a good run, narrowly losing to Malet Lambert in a recent Rugby League cup match. They are an amazing group of lads who give their all every time they play. They show the ultimate respect to me and any opposition they face. Many of the players excel on the field showing great resilience and it has been a great opportunity to see them outside the classroom environment. The team are led by Harrison Morrow; he is a natural, very supportive of every one of his team mates and guiding them through a game with respect and maturity.”

We wish Harrison all the best.
