World Book Day at the BGS Library

After many weeks of planning the Library will become the focus for a week of events leading up to World Book Day on Thursday, March 6th.

The week starts with a visit from acclaimed author Chris Bradford, who will be presenting his Young Samurai and Bodyguard series of books to years 7 and 8.  Chris studied martial arts and became an accredited bodyguard before writing his action filled books.

On World Book Day we are hosting a sponsored read based on ‘Favourite books from Childhood’. Staff and students will be reading bedtime stories all day from their favourite books whilst dressed in onesies.

There will be plenty of quizzes and competitions during the week based on childhood books. Students are encouraged to sign up to Read for my School, an initiative which allows free on-line access to 100 books – including some from Chris Bradford.
