On Monday 14th December 24 students from Y10 & Y11 visited Nottingham University’s Med-link conference to discover how to successfully train to become a doctor.
After travelling down on the most luxurious coach we have ever seen (actually Newcastle United’s team bus – with leather seats, Sky TV and a Playstation in the rear lounge!), we arrived at the conference centre for an informative day of talks and exhibitions.
The students talked to a wide range of providers in the Exhibition, including Universities from around the world, Gap year organisations and companies dedicated to helping students gain a place at Medical school.
They enjoyed practising the steady hand needed to become a surgeon on the giant game of Operation.
There was also the opportunity to learn how to suture.
We also listened to a variety of speakers who explained how to be successful in finding a place at Medical school.
In summary, a very interesting and informative day.
